Ruby T. Solomon

Ruby grew up nearby in upstate New York, though she has had the pleasure of living, working, and studying in many different parts of the United States and abroad. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Women’s and Gender Studies from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and her Master’s in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. Ruby’s therapeutic approach is integrative, collaborative, and strengths-based. She draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities depending on a student’s particular needs and preferences and holds in mind a student’s existing creativity, intelligence, kindness, power, resilience, etc. throughout the healing process. Ruby completed a postgraduate fellowship emphasizing holistic and multicultural therapeutic care in the counseling center at Williams College and has specialized training in the field of sexuality education. Her primary areas of interest include sexual identity and functioning, gender identity, relationship structures, grief work, existential concerns, sports psychology, identity exploration and social justice perspectives. In her spare time, Ruby enjoys traveling, exercising, reading, crafting art, watching stand-up comedy, and listening to spoken word poetry.
