Self Preservation: An Act of Resistance

DayTime: TBD

Facilitator: LaTasha Smith

“So it is better to speak remembering we were never meant to survive” - Audre Lorde

In the spirit of this sage advice, Self Preservation is a supportive group for Students of Color that meets weekly to engage in authentic discussion around experiences unique to students of color on the Vassar campus.  Join with your peers to discuss challenges and hold space for one another while strategizing on how to thrive in this space. Topics will include imposter syndrome, internalized oppression, managing race based stress, and preserving the self.  This group is part discussion, process and skill enhancing.

“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare”- Audre Lorde
