VCCS offers short-term individual and group counseling, referrals, outreach programming, campus trainings and workshops, consultation, crisis intervention, and short-term psychiatric medication services. When you come to VCCS for the first time, you will be asked to complete a confidential general information form and questionnaire, which takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
During an initial consultation with a counselor, you will have a chance to talk about the concerns you wish to address. Based on the information presented, the counselor will make recommendations that may include individual or group counseling, further evaluation, or referral to other services on- or off-campus. Some students find that the initial consultation meets their needs and require no further services.
