Wendy Freedman, Psychological Counselor
Wendy Freedman, PhD, is a psychological counselor at the Vassar College Counseling Service. She graduated from Cornell University, and received a M.Ed. and Ph.D. from the Curry Clinical and School Psychology program at the University of Virginia. Before joining the Vassar staff in 2004, Dr. Freedman completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Pace University Counseling Center in Westchester County. Dr. Freedman also worked in a variety of settings including the Center for Clinical Psychology Services outpatient clinic, Head Start, Cornell Medical Center-Westchester Division day treatment and inpatient units, Western Albermarle High School, Fluvanna High School, Buford Middle School, and Monmouth Medical Center.
Dr. Freedman received specialized training in working with college students, learning disabilities and ADHD, individuals with mental illness and chemical addictions, family and couple therapy, assessment, hypnosis and stress management, and attachment and relationship issues. She enjoys group process and has run a number of therapy groups addressing interpersonal dynamics. Dr. Freedman is a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Group Psychological Association.
