Larry Cerecedes, Psychological Counselor
Larry Cerecedes, PhD, a licensed psychologist, completed his clinical psychology degree at the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles, which emphasized the necessity of addressing how diversity affects the human experience. His past clinical endeavors have included counseling internships at The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, Disability Services at California Polytechnic, in addition to completing an internship at the multiethnic California State University Long Beach campus. Dr. Cerecedes hopes to generate increased awareness in various areas of diversity on the Vassar campus through his participation in the Campus Life Resource Group, the Vassar Intercultural Dialogue Group, and similar forums.
Beyond his interest and specialization with students of color, Dr. Cerecedes interests include working with LGB students and students with family of origin concerns, as well as a broadening understanding of working with students who exhibit disordered eating. He co-facilitates the Sense of Self Group on the Vassar Campus. Another emerging interest is exploring college student perfectionism.
