Larry Cerecedes, Psychological Counselor
Larry Cerecedes, PhD,is a licensed psychologist, who completed his clinical degree at the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. His doctoral externships included placements at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, counseling children and families at the Glen Roberts Child Study Center, and an APA-approved pre-doctoral internship at the California State University Long Beach. Dr. Cerecedes has a strong interest in addressing the interplay between cultural considerations and the human experience. Larry works towards increasing awareness of diversity-related concerns not only in his individual work with students, but also through liaison roles with the ALANA Center, Blegan House, and the office of Residential Life.
Dr. Cerecedes clinical interests include providing culturally sensitive counseling and affirmative support to underrepresented groups, including students of color and the Vassar LGBTQ community. Other areas of interest include working with students struggling with family-of-origin concerns, as well as adjustment and transition worries. One approach that Larry uses in working with students is to work collaboratively with other support services on campus.
