Jessyca Arthur, Psychological Counselor

Jessyca Arthur, EdD is a psychological counselor at the Vassar College Counseling Service joining the staff in the fall of 2008. She received a master’s and doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston University. Dr. Arthur has focused her clinical training on college-aged populations. For three years, she worked at Boston University providing individual therapy and group workshops to varsity athletes. Dr. Arthur also worked in a residential treatment center for young adults with major mental illness. Most recently, Dr. Arthur completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Purchase College- State University of New York in the college counseling center.

Dr. Arthur’s has specialized training in sport psychology, which she utilizes to work with athletes and performers in other fields such as music, drama, and art. Her research interest is in the recovery from eating disorders, and she enjoys providing individual and group therapy to students with eating disorder symptoms and body image concerns. She currently facilitates the “Healthy Balance Group” offered by the Counseling Service. Dr. Arthur is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
