  • The University of Chicago’s Student Counseling and Resources Services offers a wide range of “virtual pamphlets” relating to college mental health issues. Some of the topics include: anxiety, assertiveness, grief, study skills, stress management, and more.
  • The National Institute of Mental Health offers information about a variety of mental disorders, including information on treatment for mental disorders.
  • Columbia University’s “Go ask Alice” Internet-based question-and-answer health service covers a wide range of health concerns, including psychological ones. The “Go Ask Alice” web site offers searchable, archived answers to many questions.
  • The Counseling Center at Texas Women’s University offers online workshops for college students on test anxiety, stress, time management, and other related topics.
  • The American Psychological Association web site offers a section especially for students; it includes information about careers in psychology, applying to graduate school in psychology, and much more.

  • Men Stopping Violence is a social change organization dedicated to ending men’s violence against women. It was founded in 1982 based on the premise that men can work together, in alliance with the battered women’s movement, to end men’s violence against women.
  • The Sexual Victimization of College Women. This National Institute of Justice Research Report from December 2000 presents a systematic analysis of the sexual victimization of college women by examining two national-level surveys that used two different survey methods: the National College Women Sexual Victimization Study and the National Crime Victimization Survey.
  • Toolkit to End Violence Against Women. To provide concrete guidance to communities, policy leaders, and individuals engaged in activities to end violence against women, the National Advisory Council on Violence Against Women developed the toolkit To End Violence Against Women. Each toolkit chapter focuses on a particular audience or environment and includes recommendations for strengthening prevention efforts and improving services and advocacy for victims.
  • Violence Against Women Online Resources. This site provides law, criminal justice, advocacy, and social service professionals with up-to-date information on interventions to stop violence against women. The Document Library offers over 100 documents with the latest in research and model programs. The site is a cooperative project of the Office on Violence Against Women, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice and the Minnesota Center Against Violence & Abuse within the School of Social Work at the University of Minnesota.
