Overcoming Obstacles: General Psychotherapy Group

When: Day and Time TBD

Students can benefit from group therapy in that it provides a safe and trust-building place to learn and share with others. This group is for students facing challenges in how they view themselves and/or in how they relate to people around them. Themes of self-exploration, coping with difficult feelings, and finding ways of establishing supportive relationships are often common factors for group members. Students interested in gaining insights into their own lives and identities, as well as the lives of others, are encouraged to become a part of this experience.

Facing Loss

When: Day and Time TBD

The death of someone close to us can lead to varying emotions. For the college student, an added difficulty is managing school while dealing with the loss. Whether it is a parent, friend, family member, or partner, the sense of loss can lead to feelings, such as sadness, uncertainty, anger, guilt, and isolation. The death of a loved one can potentially change the way we relate to others, as well as how others interact with us. This group creates a space for the student to share stories, struggles, strengths, and ways of coping with others who have experienced a loss.
